THE ART AND SCIENCE OF WELL-BEING

If your life could do with a significant upgrade, you are definitely not alone! All too often, we are faced with seemingly impassable roadblocks that stand between the life we are leading and the life we are seeking. In fact, wellbeing (feeling upbeat in general, liking yourself, having a positive outlook, being well connected with others, and taking your life where you want to go) is far more the exception than the rule.
At Thrive, we view your decision to seek professional guidance on the all important journey to well-being as a bold and meaningful step in the right direction.
Well-being is not the fleeting experience of joy that sweeps over us when good fortune happens our way. Alternatively, well-being is not merely being "symptom free". Well-being is born out of meaningful insight and personal growth, is grounded in compassion for ourselves and others, and occurs when our thoughts and actions are in service of our healthy life goals.
At Thrive, we build on our clients' strengths while meeting each client's unique concerns and circumstances. At Thrive, we measure our success solely in terms of your success!
As anyone who has ever made a sincere New Year's resolution can attest, making meaningful changes can be challenging even under the best of circumstances! For most of us, life changing goals and strong desire are simply not enough to take us where we truly want to go.
At Thrive, we draw from research when selecting positive change strategies for our clients. Put another way, we are strong advocates of strategies that the science of positive change has shown to be effective.
In contrast to our commitment to science, our approach is very casual and is marked by encouragement, warmth, humor, plain speaking, and mutual collaboration.
AT THRIVE, WE WORK AS A TEAM WITH OUR CLIENTS TO ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN MEANINGFUL LIFE GOALS. COMMON CLIENT GOALS INCLUDE: ALLEVIATING LOW MOOD AND DEPRESSION, OVERCOMING WORRY, FEAR, AND ANXIETY; MANAGING BIPOLAR DISORDER AND ADULT ADHD; RECOVERING FROM PTSD; OVERCOMING SHYNESS, PESSIMISM, AND NEGATIVE THINKING; EFFECTIVELY COPING WITH
STRESS; OVERCOMING PROCRASTINATION; IMPROVING HEALTHY ASSERTIVENESS AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS; REDUCING SOCIAL DISCOMFORT, DEVELOPING HEALTHY SOCIAL NETWORKS, ENHANCING SELF ESTEEM, HEALING FROM PAST WOUNDS; BREAKING UNHELPFUL HABITS, AND IMPROVING RELATIONSHIP SATISFACTION.
